In the Fall of that year, the Phillies finally ended the long drought after defeating the Tampa Bay Rays in five games. Brad Lidge, concluding his perfect season as closer, finished off Tampa Bay in the bottom of the ninth and fell to his knees instantly in celebration of the championship win.
