Dornhoefer was a hard-hitting bruiser with a touch for scoring; his most famous play - a solo rush overtime goal against the Minnesota North Stars in the 1973 Stanley Cup playoffs - was immortalized at the Philadelphia Spectrum in the form of a statue.
